Joao Cande-Correia

Joao is an experienced English teacher who has a gift of creating friendly and positive atmosphere and who will be able to get you talking even if you are not sure about your language skills. He can relate to various types of clients starting with young kids and teenagers and ending with business clients from all types of environment. What students appreciate the most about him is that he is extremely supportive and can give you confidence to speak. His students say there is never a moment of akward silence in Joaos lessons because he just knows how to get things running. He is an easy going individual who likes meeting new faces. He is open to any discussions and accepts the fact that we can not be all the same and he respects all individuals regardless of their beliefs or opinions. His area of education at High School was Business and Finance, later he studied Business and Programming in London, United Kingdom. For severall years he worked in Customer Service for Thorn UK, later a part of Nomura Investment Bank. His last position at the company was a Deputy Manager. He has been teaching English for more than 10 years.
Joao was born in West Africa, in a small country, Guine-Bissau. He is from a mixed race family, half Portuguese and half Guineense. His family left for Portugal when he was 15 years old. After 8 years in Portugal he decided to leave for the UK where he lived for 12 years.
Joao has lived in the Czech Republic for 11 years. For the first 5 years he and his family lived in Cesky Raj where they have a cosy house in a beautiful village. The reason why they left England is because they wanted to have a peaceful family life in contrast with a hectic lifestyle in London.
In his free time he likes playing basketball in the garden with his children as he used to play it professionally. He likes cycling and walking, so he loves Cesky Raj. The thing he most enjoys doing in his free time is spending time with his family.
His young students describe Joao as "cool guy". His colleagues say that he is always in a good mood and smilling...."Life is too short. ", he says.
